Port Esbjerg, Southwest Jutland, Denmark. 7 January 2025. It has been raining, the gale force wind on the sea has picked up speed and now the water level has risen by up to 3.5 metres. Efforts are being made to remedy the situation, which went better than feared, according to the weather reports from DMI, Denmark's Meteorological Institute, and the media.
According to DMI's Climate Atlas: "From 30 to 50 cm increase. The water level will rise faster and faster. The water rises least in North Jutland and most in Southwestern Jutland. The difference is connected to the uplift of the land after the last ice age."
